Charles R. Murray, Sr. | Charles R. "Chick" Murray, Sr. was born October 27, 1943 in Philadelphia to Charles I. and Thelma Murray. He joined the USAF and served during the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic, specializing in airframe repair. After the service, he apprenticed with Local 13 Boilermakers Union in Philadelphia, following the brotherhood with his father, brother Roy, and son Charlie, Jr. He worked in the field as a foreman, a business agent and ultimately became a superintendant. He married Judith Sabatino in 1970. They lived on Colgate Avenue in Delanco for 34 years. Chick took an early retirement, and they moved to paradise, first to Marco Island, and recently to Naples, Florida, At various times he went by the nicknames Skipper, Murray, Chick and Bugs. Chick and Judy enjoyed traveling before and during retirement. Judy died.
